Nothing awakens the body and stretches the soul like a good yoga class. Whether hot like Miami in July, vigorous, gentle, restorative yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kikram, Iyengar, yoga on the beach, or anything in between, it’s a practice that centers you and brings you into your body – a perfect start to a day or a way to wind down at the end of it. And even when you’re traveling, your body craves it. So there’s no reason to skip your session just because you’re away from home. There’s even free yoga scattered around town! Here are some fabulous options for yoga in Miami Beach while you’re here.

3rd Street Beach Yoga

What could be more Miami than yoga on the beach? Think of it… a beautiful sunrise or glorious sunset… your mat or towel spread out on the sand, the sun’s rays bathing your body. The surf laps at the sand, the sound of the ocean in your ears. It works by donation, whatever you feel you can contribute, and you can find the current class schedule here. Classes are generally between 60 – 90 minutes long, suited to all levels of skill. Just walk out to the beach on 3rd Street and Ocean, right behind the lifeguard station, and you’ll find your class. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and a cover up for the cooler days.

Buddha Grove Studio

Probably the most unique yoga studio in Miami Beach is Buddha Grove, where they advertise, “the city’s first hip-hop yoga studio.” So, you can guess their signature “Buddha Burn” class will get you moving and shaking as well as sun saluting. (Skip doing the cardio elsewhere, you can get your complete workout done all in one class!) Located in Coconut Grove, they offer over 30 weekly classes of all types (some truly creative offerings), and their mission is to take your practice to the next level. They offer 45 minute & 60 minute options during the week and a 75 minute weekend warrior class on Saturday and Sunday. Find their class schedule here.

Glow Hot Yoga

If, mysteriously, you crave hot yoga after a hot day in the Miami sun, well, we salute you. (See what we did there?) With a room temperature of up to 105 degrees, you will assuredly sweat out all your toxins (and demons) whilst you warm up muscles, mind, and spirit as well. With a focus on love, renewal, and growth, the warmth isn’t all in the studio; it’s in your heart and in the teachings of the excellent instructors who will guide your practice. They offer Bikram, hot Vinyasa, power yoga, fusion classes, and Pilates classes as well, in lengths ranging from 45 to 90 minutes. For class schedule, click here.
